The children of Israel are suffering under Pharaoh’s edict of “same quota of bricks but get your own straw.” They definitely do not want to hear about promises from God anymore, yet God now declares the next thing He will do: He will redeem the Israelites by His outreached arm and mighty hand. Pharaoh will begin to feel the full force of God’s judgment.
