The Children of Israel have left Egypt and are on their way to the promised land. Untrained, ignorant, and unfamiliar with the Promised Land, these two million people are led away from the short coastline route to Canaan and redirected to desert in the south by the Red Sea. They are also instructed to offer every firstborn of man and animal to God.
