God instructs Moses to have the children of Israel go to their Egyptian neighbors and ask for gold, silver, and clothing. It is the night of the Passover: God will Passover every Hebrew house that has the blood of a lamb or goat painted on the side of each doorpost and the top of the door to their house. The death angel will enter every house whose door is not covered with blood and take the life of the Firstborn of that house.
